About me
Greetings! My name is Jessie and my family and I are glad you found my website. A little bit about my life: I graduated Cum Laude from SMWC with a B.A. in music in clarinet and saxophone. I now play with several community groups in Terre Haute, Brazil, and other cities. Seven years of my life was dedicated to the Army National Guard where I served as a cook, clarinet player, and as a gunner on a 9-month deployment to Iraq. I love to cook, garden, camp, play card and table-top games, as well as spending time with my family and friends. What I have really developed a passion for is what probably brought you to my page-pregnancy, birth, and families!
My passion for supporting families came stemmed from experiencing birth myself and realizing how much of a benefit a non-family support person was. That’s when I decided to dive deeper into the birth work pool and began training with Birth Arts International. I am a certified birth doula, certified postpartum doula, certified breastfeeding educator, and am in-training for childbirth education and to be a midwife's assistant. I have also certified with Stillbirthday as a birth and bereavement doula, and recently completed Birth Monopoly's Know Your Rights course. I feel that completing these courses will help me provide well-rounded support for my clients by giving me different perspectives and more study in my field.
